Care of Glass
Traditional stained glass care
Traditional stained glass is made the same way as church windows, with lead and glass. It is very hard-wearing and can last 100 years with care.
Indoor Decorative Panels
Indoor panels require only light dusting periodically with a dry cloth. It is best not to use any polish or detergents on them, especially the lead lines. If you need to clean the glass, use water or diluted washing-up liquid on a cloth to clean smudges off, then buff with a soft cloth.
Outdoor Garden Pieces
Outdoor pieces will get dull over time, especially with our UK weather! However, they clean up extremely well. Wipe with a damp cloth, perhaps with some mild washing-up liquid to remove weather spots, then buff with a microfibre cloth to restore its shine.
Important: Use a disposable cloth or a special cloth just for this purpose, as these pieces are made with lead and you should not use this cloth for anything else. Wash your hands after handling.
Positioning Your Spinners
To ensure the glass doesn't get broken, it is also important to position your spinners so that they cannot be blown into a branch or other object.
